My research interests include ecological interactions and ecological economics. More specifically, determining and designing incentives for conservation, and consideration of cost effectiveness in conservation planning and environmental management.
I’m currently working on “Carbon, conservation and the new climate markets”. Climate change, and the international activities associated with it, provides a new platform under which biodiversity can be valued and supported. Potential benefits and pitfalls are highly dependent on how new climate markets are designed and implemented. My goal is to explore how we can make the most of this opportunity and provide some guidance as to how we can best use carbon markets to support biodiversity conservation.
